CDA CYC/Cora Youth Company Programs provide Cora’s most advanced, dedicated students ages 12-18 an opportunity to study dance more seriously by learning and performing a wide range of works by professional choreographers.
CDA CYC dancers perform locally in 4-10 times annually at local Alleghany Highlands events and select members travel beyond the area for intersectional projects with youth in other communities. CYC student and family engagement goes far beyond that of a typical youth performing ensemble, providing group mentorship and training specific to each dancer and family to support students in carving out their personal path of dance study.
CYC is a significant commitment, challenging dancers to develop character, self-reliance, empathy, and leadership skills as well as dance ability. For information on becoming a member of CDA CYC, email CDA_info@coradance.org.
