CDA CYC/Cora Youth Company Programs provide Cora’s most dedicated and talented students an opportunity to study dance more seriously by learning and performing a wide range of works by professional choreographers.

CDA CYC dancers perform locally in Alleghany County at community events and will take their first tour to Appomattox Regional Governors School this spring!

CYC student and family engagement goes far beyond that of a typical youth performing ensemble, providing group mentorship and training specific to each dancer and family to support students in carving out their personal path of dance study. CYC is a significant commitment, challenging dancers to develop character, self-reliance, empathy, and leaderships skills as well as dance ability.

Touring Opportunities

CYC dancers travel! Sometimes just down the street, sometimes up and down the East Coast. In addition to annual performances in local events, festivals, and community celebrations, our 2023–2024 CDA & CDB CYC groups toured to James Madison University to open for the Virginia Repertory Dance Company annual concert for their mainstage debut.
