OUR “PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN!” PHILOSOPHY

Cora believes that outstanding arts programs should be accessible to ALL interested families, regardless of ability to pay. We operate on the honor policy. If you can pay our suggested rates, we ask that you do. If your family is not able to pay the suggested tuition, we allow you to name a tuition rate that you can afford. No proof of income is required and no one is turned away based on what she/he can afford.

SUGGESTED TUITION AND FEES

Enrollment Fee: To take part in our program, every family enrolling a student is required to pay a $20 membership fee, due once a year at the time of enrollment.
Tuition: Pay-what-you-can. No student will be turned away based on what a family can or cannot pay. If the suggested tuition rates below are not within your budget, families may name their own rate and will be held accountable to their named tuition rate over the course of the year.

Tuition only (no walkover): $860 ($215 due per quarter)

Tuition plus walkover: $980 ($245 due per quarter)

Pro-rated tuition rates are available for students registering late in the school year.

FAQ’S:

HOW DO I REGISTER?

To register, you can stop by the Cora studio at 72 Van Dyke St. anytime between 12-5pm Mon-Fri or call the Cora office at 718-858-2520. Parents will receive a class calendar with important dates and parent handbook.

WHAT SHOULD I PLEDGE FOR MY TUITION?

We ask families to name a tuition that works for you; that is comfortable and possible for your budget and life. On our end, our organization plans our budget based on tuition pledges, so we ask that you pledge what you KNOW you’ll be able to contribute, rather than what you hope to or may possibly be able to contribute. It is better to pledge LESS and then contribute more than to pledge more and not be able to fulfill the pledge.

CAN I PAY WEEKLY/MONTHLY/ONE TIME?

Yes! For our purposes, we invoice quarterly in order for us to best keep track of payments. However, if it is most helpful for your family to pay weekly, monthly, one time, etc, you absolutely can- this should just be included in your tuition pledge and communicated with the Programs Manager. In addition to being PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN, you may also pay on a schedule that works for you, provided we know when that would be so we have a way to keep track. Also know that you will be still be billed quarterly as everyone else, and your total owed will be reflected as such.

IS THE ENROLLMENT FEE PART OF MY TUITION?

The enrollment fee of $20 is required to secure your family’s enrollment in Cora’s programs. It is due once a year and is not included in tuition pledge; however, with our sliding scale classes, families pay everything from the full suggested tuition ($20 registration fee + $860 tuition per class for the year) to $0 tuition ($20 registration fee + $0 tuition per class for the year) and everything in between. We simply ask you to name the tuition that works for your family, which will be your individualized tuition for the semester.

CAN I GET A REFUND?

There are no refunds after the 3rd class of the semester nor are there refunds at any time during the year for student absences. Should you choose to discontinue classes after the student has been enrolled for more than 3 weeks, you will be billed for the semester’s remaining balance. A child enrolled less than 3 weeks whose family chooses not to continue will be refunded less the registration fee and the pro-rated cost of classes completed.

CAN MY CHILD TAKE A TRIAL CLASS?

Students may take a one-time only trial class for free.
