HOLY TUXEDO! RED HOOK PROMS TURNS FIVE!!! Begun in 2013 as a much needed, community wide spirit lifter following Hurricane Sandy, THE RED HOOK PROM has brought together MORE community members, fly moves, sassy outfits and - say it loud - LOOOOOOVE than any other Cora event over the past five years. 2017 is RHP's 5TH ANNIVERSARY, so get yourself ready for more decades (it's 70s, 80s AND 90s this year y'all!) and more party-time (we're goin' until 12am!), meaning more great music, dancing and FUN FOR YOU! It's a PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN PARTY, so EVERYONE IS INVITED! SO....what are you waiting for?? Strap on your dancing shoes, pull out the hairspray, BRING A FRIEND and get ready to meet ALL OF RED HOOK on the dance floor for the night of your life on May 6! Stay tuned for more details!

  • DJ Robert Lux spun a killer line-up of BOTH ‘80s and ‘90s throwbacks!
  • The libations flowed from Red Hook favorites, spiked punch from dry/dock, wine from Botta di Vino, and beer from Sixpoint Brewery!
  • Snacks from Court Street Grocers, Hometown BBQ, Mark's Pizza, Baked, Hope & Anchor, and Fairway....yum!
  • Makeovers and hairstyling by Lasha Keller from Elements Hair Studio
  • Endless photos with the MVS Studio Photo Booth 
  • A totally awesome Silent Auction with amazing trips, classes, gift cards, memberships, and experiences, like a tasting at the Red Hook Winery!
  • ‘80s and ‘90s dance-offs performed by Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance professional dancers and students

4th annual prom DETAILS

The annual dance party and silent auction for grown-ups in support of the pay-what-you-can dance programs of Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance was sponsored by community partner Realty Collective. Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance offers outstanding professional performances and classes year-round in Red Hook and beyond! NO ONE is ever turned away from Cora based on what or if they can pay, and the PROM is no different! Admission was by donation (suggested $100-minimum $5) for a night to be remembered.
