We Did it!
Dear Friend of Cora Dance,
WE DID IT! Last fall, after three years of painstaking work, Cora launched a 5-Year Growth Plan to expand programs, improve performance and find a larger, permanent home by 2023. In 2018 - FOUR YEARS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE - we moved to that home, not to abandon our plan, but because our growth was so exponential, we had to act... FAST.
Your steadfast commitment to Cora inspired us - against all odds - to find a space, move and complete Phase 1 renovations in just THREE MONTHS without losing a single day of programming: a mammoth feat made possible by community members committed to creating a home for dance accessible to everyone. Your donations of time and money, in small and large amounts, catapulted Cora from a tiny, tucked-away 1,100 square foot space to a stunning, state-of-the art, conveniently located, 3,200 square foot facility that we can truly call home. It is an inspiring story and an inspiring space where we can count on having a roof over our heads for 20 years to come. Now, we ask you to support something even more inspiring….what is UNDER that roof.
With your support, Cora has remained a PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN institution for a decade where no child has ever been turned way based on what or if they can pay. We offer priority enrollment to NYCHA and Section-8 families and nearly 90% of our students attend for FREE or receive tuition assistance. This year has just begun and already, Cora has offered $78,000 in tuition discounts and will engage more students than ever (OVER 400 TO BE EXACT!). More students also means more instructors, program assistants, snacks, leotards, shoes… more reasons we need YOU to help ensure every child has a chance to SOAR!
At Cora Dance, every single donor matters, every single donation has an impact and we need you to continue to champion our growing family. Our Fall SOAR Campaign - Supporting Opportunities for Artists to Rise - means with your support, Cora can ensure that every child - not just those of ample means - has an equal opportunity to dance. Your donation last season helped us acquire our home. This season, your donation keeps kids SOARING inside. Please visit www.coradance.org to donate. Join us in making what has been an historic step, a lasting one.
With deepest gratitude,
Artistic & Executive Director

PHASE 2 OF CORA’S BUILD-OUT IS COMING SOON
(AND TAKING ACCESS EVEN FURTHER!)
Cora secured $105,721 of our total $250,000 Capital Campaign Goal to complete Phase 1 renovations this summer and open our new space. Phase 2 begins Summer 2019 when we finish the basement,
install a multi-unit cooling system, and install a wheelchair ramp
so the entire facility is ADA accessible, ensuring everyone has access to Cora!
STAY TUNED ON HOW TO GET INVOLVED!!
We are grateful to you all.
